Police officers from Ugenya stopped residents from setting a blaze MP David Ochieng’s home after he decamped to Kenya Kwanza Coalition.
Moreover, the residents vented their anger against the MP for ditching Azimio camp at the Ugenya constituency development fund offices in Sega town which they vandalized on Saturday, August 27.
Reports say that Kanyumba police post officers rushed to the MP’s home after they received reports that a group of angry youths were headed to David Ochieng’s home carrying crude weapons.
Furthermore, the angry youths were shouting that the lawmaker had let them down by his decision to shift coalition.
Nonetheless, Siaya county police commander, Michael Muchiri confirmed the incidents, saying that investigations have been launched.
“Ugenya sub county police commander, Benard Wamugunda is dealing with the issues” said Muchiri.
He further stated that the CDF office has been damaged.

Likewise, the police commander reported that the development was as a result of the MP’s decision to join president-elect, William Ruto’s Kenya kwanza.
Meanwhile, the protests against MP Ochieng’s move entered the second day when Ugenya residents brought business at Sega township to a standstill.
Moreover, while carrying twigs and placards, the locals challenged David Ochieng to resign and seek fresh mandate on a Kenya kwanza alliance ticket if he thinks he was popular on the ground.
According to the residents, Ugenya constituency was an Orange Democratic Movement zone and was fully behind former prime minister, Raila Amollo Odinga.
