A man identified as Evans Kosgei has sent shockwaves through social media after detailing plans to kill his girlfriend until he finally allegedly committed the act.

The victim, he notes is a teacher in Mathira Constituency, Nyeri County, met a gruesome fate in a rented house, leaving behind a trail of horror and unanswered questions.

Evans took to X to outline his sinister intentions with the first post on February 11, 2024, sending ripples of fear and disbelief through those who came across his disturbing narration.

The fact that he openly shared his plan on a public platform before allegedly committing the act has left many wondering about the depths of darkness that can exist within individuals.

The sequence of events leading to this horrific incident sheds light on a tumultuous relationship that began in 2016 when Evans and Jackline first crossed paths during their schooling years in Elgeyo Marakwet and Uasin Gishu counties, respectively.

As per his narration, the relationship blossomed over the years, culminating in the birth of a child after Jackline pursued her studies at Murang’a University of Science and Technology.

Evans joined her in Murang’a, where they built a life together while juggling responsibilities – Evans working as a night guard and caring for their child during the day as Jackline pursued her education.

However, their seemingly harmonious life took a dark turn earlier this year when Evans suspected Jackline of infidelity.

“We agreed to be husband and wife since we had a kid together. We lived a smooth life without problems until this year January when I got a certain job,” said Evans in one of the posts.

Confrontations ensued after Evans discovered evidence of her involvement with other men, leading to a tumultuous period in their relationship.

Despite forgiving Jackline for her transgressions, Evans says the situation deteriorated further, prompting him to make the chilling decision to end her life.

Evans expressed his deep sense of betrayal and heartbreak over Jackline’s actions.

“Rest in peace my dear wife! I loved you. We promised each other so many things which we were yet to actualize but I didn’t know that I was alone in those plans because you had other plans with other men.”

“All our problems started when you started bringing men to our own marriage” wrote Evans.

His final words before carrying out the unthinkable act were filled with sorrow and regret, highlighting the depth of pain and anguish that had consumed their once loving relationship.

“My sweetheart you decided to go against all what we promised each other 9 years ago. I had confided in you in fact I trusted you more than I was trusting my own parents for you only to betray me after getting some money. But it’s okay. Let it be a lesson to the rest,” he wrote.

Evans disappears without a trace

Following the murder of his estranged wife, Evans reportedly disappeared without a trace on March 7, 2024.

Despite all efforts to locate him, his whereabouts remained unknown, until Monday, March 11 when police confirmed that he followed through with his cryptic message hinting at committing suicide. 

Evans’ lifeless body was found dangling from a tree in Thika, Kiambu County adding to the complexity of this heartbreaking event.

In his final tweet before vanishing from the public eye, Evans wrote, “Rest in peace my love. Am following you back.”

Mshomolozi highlighted the need to leave and move on after infidelity saying,”Kwani how have men become nowadays? If she cheats on you, si you just leave her and move on.”

“It does not matter how many kids you have together. Cheating is enough grounds for leaving (Not killing) her. This means the lady was living with him against her wish (under threats).” he further added.
