A politician from the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is seeking answers about the sudden demise of her daughter Seth Njeri. Lucy Njeri, a nominated Member of County Assembly of Kirinyaga County together with her family are yet to come to terms with the demise of their kin.
Addressing members of the press on Sunday October 21, Lucy said Seth was found dead in her rental room in Biafra Estate in Thika on Monday October 14.
According to Lucy, she last spent time with her daughter at their Kamakis home in Nairobi on Saturday, October 12, but they still communicated by phone on Sunday, October 13.
During their conversation, Lucy asked if Seth had gone to church, and her daughter confirmed that she had.

Later, she tried to reach her daughter, but her phone calls and texts went unanswered.
Seeing that her daughter was not responding, Lucy, along with other family members, began searching for Seth’s, but the search was in vain.
On Monday, October 14, Seth’s mother received a call from a stranger informing her that her daughter had been killed, and the matter was reported to the police.
“I saw visible injuries both and the left and right side of her neck,” Lucy said.

According to preliminary investigations, Seth Njeri was sexually assaulted and later strangled which led to her demise.
“I found my daughter lying peacefully, a good soul. You could even think we were still talking to each other because her spirit had not yet departed from me, and the bond and friendship were still there. She was the one,” the mother said.

So far, the detectives suspect that Seth’s ex-boyfriend might have played a part in her death, but Lucy’s family dismissed the claims insisting that the last friend that Seth visited might know details of her death.
The girl in question has since recorded a statement with the detectives, and Lucy hopes that she will get justice for her daughter’s death.
Mount Kenya University student found dead in Nakuru County
On October 14, the body of a Mount Kenya University student by the name Mercy Kwamboka was found dumped in a maize plantation Kiamunyi area of Rongai Constituency, Nakuru County.

Police reports indicated that the student’s personal belongings including her student and national IDs, and a bus fare travel receipt from Thika to Nakuru were found next to her body.
Her family reported that she disappeared from her home in Pipeline on September 28 after receiving a phone call at 11 pm.
