Former Nation FM Radio Presenter Anto Neosoul sent the internet into frenzy after revealing that he was yet to receive payment for a gig he took part in during President William Ruto’s campaigns.
Neosoul was reacting to a social media user who shared the video and asked, “I wonder how Anto Neosoul feels now”.
This was, however, not the first time the video surfaced on social media. Lately, Kenyans have used the video in reference to the promises and campaigns of the Kenya Kwanza coalition ahead of the 2022 elections.
In his response, the media personality said that he was yet to be paid using a commonly used phrase “nilibebwa ufala” which can be translated to mean “I was taken for a ride”.
“Hata sikulipwa…. Hadi leo… nilibebwa ufala,” he said- which is equivalent to, “They have never paid me to date, they took me for a ride.”
His response then became a subject of discussion as social media users shared their thoughts on the revelation.
How family reacted to the video
Activist Boniface Mwangi was among Kenyans who commented with post joking about how Neosoul, referred in the post as his niece, was ridiculed in family gatherings due to his association with the video.
“Mpatie za macho (give him something) so we can stop laughing at him during family meetings, Boniface Mwangi said in the post.
Anto Neosoul then hilariously commented to Mwangi’s post in expression of his desire to end the ridicule from his family members.
“My uncle to the rescue. Finally, the family jokes will end,” Noesoul responded.
But not all the comments were kind for the media personality.
Amid the economic heat felt by some Kenyans due high cost of select commodities and high taxes.

Kenyans share hilarious reactions
In addition, comments with laugh emojis dominated in the post with over 170 comments as users on X reacted to his revelation.
An X user named KOX Prosecutor, for instance, commented with a popular saying that states everything has consequences.
“Malipo ni hapa hapa duniani (all payments are made here on earth). Ulipromote wheelbarrow msee (You promoted the wheelbarrow),” he commented.
Another one went on to remind Neosoul of a time he bragged that he was fully booked in his emceeing gigs.

However, the former radio presenter and actor clapped back affirming that he was still getting deals.
How Anto Neosoul helped build the Wheelbarrow movement
The video taken in the onset of the United Democratic Alliance campaigns was one of the many engagements President William Ruto had at his then Karen residence.
Ruto, who was by then serving as the Deputy President, hosted celebrities ranging from musicians to media personalities and traders in line with his “Kazi ni Kazi” mantra.
The wheelbarrow later became an integral part of the campaigns and even became part of the Presidential standards as an indication of a government concerned about the ordinary citizens.
