Julius Rutto Kipletting is a Kenyan politician and is the current Member of Parliament for Kesses Constituency in Uasin Gishu County.
Early Career and Educational Background
Rutto’s academic journey began at Arnesens High School between 1997 and 2000, where he completed his O-Level studies.
He later pursued professional accounting qualifications with the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB), obtaining his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification between 2000 and 2005.
In 2007, he enrolled at Moi University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 2010, and later joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in 2015 to pursue a Master’s degree, a program he continues to advance in.
Professional career
Rutto’s career in finance began at Jesus Global Evangelistic Ministry, where he worked as an Office Administrator from 2004 to 2005.
He later joined Francis CC and Associates as an Audit Assistant in 2005 before moving to Tanui and Associates, Certified Public Accountants, where he served as an Audit Manager between 2009 and 2013.
In 2013, he became the Managing Partner at RK & Associates, Certified Public Accountancy, a role he held until 2017.
His leadership extended beyond accounting firms, as he served on the Board of Governors for Friends College Kaimosi from 2017 to 2020.
His governance experience was further enhanced when he joined the Uasin Gishu County Government in 2017 as a County Executive Committee Member, overseeing critical functions in public finance and budgeting until 2022.
Rutto is also a proud member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), holding membership number 8440.
Political career
In the 2022 general elections, Rutto transitioned to national politics, successfully contesting the Kesses Constituency parliamentary seat under the UDA party, and was sworn in as a Member of Parliament on August 16, 2022.
