The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has made an appeal to students who missed University slots after failing to secure any of their previously selected courses.
KUCCPS in a statement on April 25, 2024, announced that students who did not secure any selected courses still have the chance to choose other listed courses as the deadline nears.
The placement service advised such students to visit its portal and choose the available listed courses as the timeline for application comes to a lapse on April 25.
“Only 10 hours left, and the countdown is on! Applicants who received notifications that they did not secure any of the courses they selected previously should log in to student.kuccps.net and choose available courses as listed on the portal,” read part of the statement.
On the other hand, form four leavers seeking training opportunities in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) centers and other colleges who had not applied were also urged to do so.

How to Apply
To make an application, log in to the KUCCPS portal students.kuccps.net and select unfilled Degree, Diploma, Craft Certificate or Artisan Certificate Programs that are listed on the portal.
Note that you need your full KCSE Index Number; type in in the slot provided on the Login page without the slash (/) and use your KCPE Index Number/Birth Certificate Number as the password.
It is important to note that if a course is not listed on the portal, the course is not available currently for application (filled up during the previous applications).
KUCCPS Reopens Portal
The alert comes days after the placement service re-opened its online application portal for placement of students to unfilled programs in TVET institutions and universities including the Open University of Kenya.

KUCCPS opened the portal on April 19, 2024, for the 2024 Second and Final Revision of Choices and set the deadline on Wednesday April 25, 2024.
According to the service, the reopening was aimed at addressing applicants who did not secure a course during the initial application (February 8, 2024, to March 4, 2024) and the First Revision of Choices (March 20, 2024, to April 4, 2024).
On the other hand, it aimed at addressing 2023 KCSE candidates with C+ who had not yet submitted applications for placement to Degree or TVET Programs.
Also, past KCSE graduates from 2000 to 2023 who had never enrolled to tertiary institutions through KUCCPS were urged to apply.
At the same time, those who applied during the First Revision of Choices that ended on April 4, 2024, were advised to confirm the status of their applications by logging into the portal.
Furthermore, applicants were informed of the status of their applications by SMS.
