Baltasar Engonga, the now-suspended Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF) in Equatorial Guinea, has been arrested.
Engonga has recently come under public scrutiny following a scandal involving over 400 sex tapes that have triggered significant outrage across Equatorial Guinea.
Known by his nickname, “Bello,” Engonga’s reputation and career have faced severe repercussions as a result of these revelations.
Reports indicate that more than 460 videos were uncovered during an investigation into Engonga as part of a corruption-related case.
However, the government of Equatorial Guinea has since suspended all officials involved in the scandal.
Baltasar Engonga Career
Engonga’s educational background is rooted in economics, a course he pursued at the University of Malabo.
His early professional career began in the mining sector, where he served as an accountant.
Later, he transitioned to GEPROYECTOS, a presidential agency tasked with monitoring, controlling, and supervising national projects.
This experience laid the foundation for his eventual leadership role at ANIF, where he was responsible for overseeing financial investigations.

Details of His Family
He is a married man with a family of six children.
His father, Baltasar Edjo’o Engongo, was previously the Minister of Finance in Equatorial Guinea and is currently the President of the Commission of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC).

According to preliminary reports, he was born in 1970 and is 54 years old.

Reports suggest that over 460 videos were retrieved as authorities investigated him for a corruption-related case.
Engoga’s escapades are so widespread that he had affairs with the wives of ministers, the president’s sister, the daughter of the police chief, the attorney general’s wife, and spouses of other prominent personalities.
In addition, he did it with his brother’s wife, the pastor’s wife, his uncle’s pregnant wife, his cousin, and many others related to him.
Evidence from these tapes is expected to play a crucial role in ongoing investigations and any resulting legal proceedings.
