Former Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) journalist Shiksha Arora has joined Cape Media’s TV 47 days after parting ways with the state-owned media house.
In an advert released online on July 23, 2024, TV 47 announced a new show set to be hosted by Shiksha Arora while introducing her as a new member of the ‘new girls in town’.
“Hold on to your seats, folks! A brand-new show is coming your way on TV 47 with Shiksha Arora Coming Soon on TV 47,” read part of the advert.
The Cape Media-owned station did not however reveal the details of the new show.
Arora announced her departure from KBC effective Friday July 19 marking the end of a significant chapter in her career, having spent three years at the station.
Taking to her social media platforms, the renowned journalist expressed her gratitude and bittersweet emotions about leaving KBC through a heartfelt message.
Shiksha Arora quits KBC
While revealing that she would be quitting the media house after three years, Arora noted that Friday July 19, 2024, would be her final show in KBC.

“My heart is overflowing with emotions as I type this. It’s hard to say goodbye to a workplace that I called home for 3 years and colleagues who have become like family,” wrote Shiksha.
She further reminisced about her time at KBC, highlighting exciting moments like covering elections and dancing with Kenyan entertainment icons. She also fondly recalled interviewing over a hundred celebrities and artists on her show.
“This isn’t just the end of a show; it’s just the beginning of a new chapter which I am very excited about,” Shiksha shared.
Further, Arora while announcing her departure praised her colleagues, calling her three years at the station an amazing experience.
Her final show, which was aired on the same day was a poignant farewell to both her audience and her team at KBC who held a farewell event at the studios.

Shiksha Arora joined the state corporation in 2021 after a similar three-year stint as a news anchor at Mediamax’s K24.
Her engaging personality and humor quickly won over audiences, solidifying her place as one of Kenya’s most recognized media figures.
Education and Career Background
The journalists has a master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom and a talent for digital marketing.
Arora had enrolled for a microbiology and biotechnology undergraduate degree at the University of Nairobi (UoN) until in her third year when she developed interests in media.
She landed her first job at Easy FM in 2013 together with her friend, when they tried their luck in an audition that was meant for men.
In the year 2018, her career was on an upward trajectory after she was employed at K24 TV as a news anchor
Arora, who is of Indian descent, is also a dancer and social media enthusiast, she revealed in a past interview that her mother was interested in dance but couldn’t afford the classes.
The journalist is among notable media personalities that have joined the ranks of TV 47 in recent months following their exit in respective media houses.
Other journalists who have joined the Cape Media-owned station include former Radio Citizen show host and presenter, Shatta Bway, Betty Kyallo and former KU TV anchor Ann Odida.
