Mihrab Tower is a modern 25-floor commercial building situated along Lenana Road in Kilimani, Nairobi, one of the city’s fastest-growing business and residential districts.
The building was constructed for Ksh1.3 billion and opened in 2017.
Mihrab is designed like a mihrab (something that indicates the direction of Mecca) which symbolises an entry towards purity and goodness.
The building is owned by FCB Bank, founded by Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi, his business partner Abdikadir Mohamed, Hassan Varvani (who is also the bank’s chairman), and Amir Nahdi – a Tanzanian businessman.
Ahmednasir Founded FCB Bank Which Owns Mihrab Tower
Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi is one of the top lawyers in Kenya.
Ahmednasir has a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree and a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree.
He was the Lead Counsel for the Office of the President in the Waki Commission investigating the 2007/2008 post-election violence in Kenya.
Ahmednasir was the lead counsel for the former President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 Election Petition at the Supreme Court of Kenya.
He also represented the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission in the Supreme Court Election Petition on the 2013 Elections.
Besides, Ahmednasir taught law at the University of Nairobi for over 12 years.
Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed
Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed is a Kenyan lawyer and politician.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from University of Nairobi, a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Harvard Law School.
He served as Member of Parliament for Mandera Central Constituency from 2007 to 2013.
Currently, Mohamed is a Senior Partner with Abdikadir & Abdikadir Company Advocates.
He has previously worked at the Executive Office of the President as the Senior Legal Advisor to the President of the Republic of Kenya on Constitutional and Legal matters.
He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya as well as Institute of Certified Public Secretaries (CPS).
Abdikadir has previously been a partner at the firm of Ahmednasir, Abdikadir & Company Advocates for almost two decades, where he was the managing partner before he joined politics where he was elected as a Member of Parliament for Mandera Central in the 2007 general elections.
FCB Bank List of Shareholders
As of October 2022, FCB had 29 shareholders.
Daily Nation reported that former Chase Bank boss Zafrullah Khan owned 135,059 shares equating to a 2.7 percent.
This stake makes him the sixth-largest shareholder.
As of that time, Hussein Ali Salad was the largest shareholder through his company Opportunity Logistics Services Limited.
The Company owns 811,000 shares equating to a 16.5 percent stake.

Ameir Munif Abdallah Nadhi and Said Edha Abdallah Nadhi are the joint second largest shareholders, each having 805,000 shares.
Ahmednassir owns 325,614 shares while Abdikadir owns 75,000 shares.
Mohammed Hassan Ebrahim Varvani, who serves as the board chairman, owns 153,827 shares.
The Media House listed Abbabakhar Mohammed Abba with 95,000 shares, Omar Shariff Mohammed with 62,500 shares, Ifyet Mohammed Hassan Varvani with 89,733 shares, and Yasin Jama Ismail with 37,500 shares. It also named Yusuf Abdi Adan with 35,625 shares, Mansoor Mohamed Hassan with 89,733 shares, Yasmin Mohammed Hassanali with 89,733 shares, and Ali Yasin Farah with 186,259 shares.

The list further included Bishar Abdirahman Hussein with 30,000 shares, Yusuf Ali Juma with 186,259 shares, Yusuf Ahmed Dahir with 186,260 shares, Mohamed Nasir Abdi with 26,250 shares, and Dahir Ismael with 186,259 shares.
Other shareholders named were Shaffi Mohammed Hussein Bacheleni with 25,000 shares, Abdulatif Esajee Kaderbhai with 35,893 shares, Hassanali Kamal Mithwani with 35,895 shares, and Ibrahim Haji Warfa with 63,829 shares.
It also listed Amina Mohamed with 89,733 shares, Harunani Suleiman Abdulshakur with 73,808 shares, Ahmed Mohamed Bachelani with 25,000 shares, and Abdulhamid Mohamed Aboo with 107,681 shares.
