A new wave of concern is emerging across the United States after President Donald Trump warned of a possible large-scale bombing campaign against Iran, with many Americans expressing fear about the consequences of further escalation.
Recent polling highlighted on Fox News Sunday shows a significant share of voters believe the conflict is making the country less safe, as reports surface that the Pentagon is weighing options that could include expanded airstrikes and ground operations.
The warning, coupled with uncertainty over how Iran may respond, has intensified public anxiety, placing Trump under pressure as he pushes for a decisive end to the conflict while facing growing skepticism at home.
Tiffany Smiley, Leslie Marshall, Cal Thomas and Josh Wingrove joined Shannon Bream on Fox News Sunday to review fresh polling data released this week.
The numbers show most Americans believe the ongoing war with Iran has left the country less safe.Â
The panel spent the full segment going through the Fox News poll results. Fifty-eight percent of voters now oppose current U.S. military action against Iran.
Forty-four percent say the conflict has made the United States less safe. Only about three in ten say it has made the country safer.
The poll also found 52 percent of voters think the effort in Iran is not going well.
Trump’s Latest Warning to Iran
The discussion came two days after President Trump posted a direct warning on Truth Social. He told Iranian negotiators they must “get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty.”
Trump added that Iran had been “militarily obliterated” and had “zero chance of a comeback.”
The post followed reports that the Pentagon is preparing options for a final push that could include ground troops.
Those plans surfaced as a five-day pause on strikes against Iranian energy sites was set to end. Trump however extended it to 10 days.
The President had earlier told supporters the U.S. had “cut out the cancer” of Iran’s nuclear program.
The panel reviewed how these developments line up with public opinion. Viewers saw side-by-side charts from the poll showing clear opposition to further escalation.
Bream asked each panelist to address the gap between the administration’s stated goals and the numbers showing most Americans feel less secure.

The poll numbers land at a difficult time for the White House. Trump has pushed for a quick end to the conflict and set a four-to-six-week timeline at the start.
Officials have told him a strong show of force could bring Iran to the table and let him claim victory. Yet the data shows voters do not share that view.
Americans are watching reports of possible ground operations and higher oil prices at home. The panel laid out the numbers without spin.
The message from the poll is direct: most voters think the war has made daily life riskier and the country weaker. Trump’s warning of a massive bombing campaign now sits against that public fear.
The segment ended with the panel noting the numbers leave the president facing clear resistance from the American public he says he is protecting.
