President Donald Trump said the US military is preparing for another action after a ceasefire with Iran showed immediate signs of strain.
Trump posted on Truth Social on Thursday, April 9th, that US forces remain positioned around Iran.
He wrote that ships, aircraft, and personnel with added ammunition and weaponry will stay in place “until such time as the real agreement reached is fully complied with.”
“If for any reason it is not, which is highly unlikely, then the ‘Shootin’ Starts,’ bigger, and better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before,” Trump stated in the post.
He added that the military is “loading up and resting, looking forward, actually, to its next conquest. America is back!”
Ceasefire Strains Hours After Announcement
The two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran was announced on Wednesday through Pakistan as broker. It required no nuclear weapons for Iran and safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump said in his post that the agreement also covers those two points. US military assets deployed to the region in recent days will remain stationed there for now.
The ceasefire faced immediate pressure from events in Lebanon. Israel carried out strikes on commercial and residential areas of Beirut as part of its operations against Hezbollah. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the ceasefire does not cover Israel’s actions against the Iranian-backed group.
This position differs from statements by Pakistan, according to reports from The Associated Press.
Military Posture in the Middle East
Trump’s post came one day after the ceasefire deal. He confirmed that additional US forces and equipment would stay in position near Iran to enforce the terms.
The strikes on Iran occurred on February 28 during Trump’s current term. His administration has also taken other actions in the region, including moves involving Venezuela.

The recent deployment includes an increased number of US warships and support vessels moved into the Persian Gulf and surrounding waters over the past ten days.
Ground-based air defense systems and additional fighter squadrons have also been shifted to bases in the Gulf region. These assets are now on heightened alert status as Washington monitors Iranian compliance with the core conditions of the agreement.

The ceasefire was meant to pause direct conflict between the US and Iran. Its quick challenges from events in Lebanon and differing public positions show the limits of the agreement reached so far.
US military positioning in the area continues, and statements from both Trump and Netanyahu indicate that operations against Iranian-linked targets may proceed separately. This keeps tensions high in a region that affects global shipping and energy supplies.
