The government, through the National Youth Council (NYC), has launched a portal where Kenyan youth can access job opportunities and career development programs nationwide and internationally.
The portal was launched by President William Ruto on August 12, 2025, during the International Youth Day celebrations held in Kakamega County.
According to NYC, the portal was launched in response to concerns raised by many Kenyan youth, many of whom have expressed frustration over the lack of accessible information on available opportunities.
“When the National Youth Council interacts with young people, a lot of them say they don’t know how to access opportunities. Under the leadership of Cabinet Secretary for Sports Salim Mvurya and Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs, we first created a physical copy, known as the Youth Pass Opportunity. We try to summarize all the opportunities young people can access,” said an NYC official.
“From there, we developed the digital version—Kuna Form—to make it easier for youth to find and benefit from these opportunities.”

How to register on the NYC Kuna Form portal
The Kuna Form portal offers a centralized platform where young people can view, register for, and share various opportunities ranging from employment and internships to training and mentorship programs both in the country and abroad. The portal also has skills and funding opportunities.
Youth can access the portal via kunaform.nyckenya.go.ke. One is required to register using a valid email address.
Speaking during the International Youth Day celebrations at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), President Ruto hailed the pivotal role of young people in driving Kenya’s growth and development, describing them as the “single most decisive force” in determining the country’s destiny.
The Head of State lauded the energy, creativity, and resilience of Kenyan youths, noting their influence in sectors such as science, technology, and sports.
“The single most decisive force that will shape Kenya’s destiny is not oil, gold, or any other natural resource — it is our youth. For generations, young people have been referred to as the leaders of tomorrow. Our youth are the builders of today, the architects of our future, and the driving engine powering Kenya’s rise to greatness,” he said.
Initiatives by the government to address youth unemployment
Further, the President outlined several government programmes aimed at tackling youth unemployment, including the Climate Worx programme and the Uwezo Fund.

Ruto noted that the Uwezo Fund would cover expenses for young Kenyans seeking jobs abroad, complementing other labour export initiatives.
At the same time, the President referenced the success of the Kenya Youth Employment Opportunities Project (KYEOP), which benefited over 310,000 youths from 2018 to 2023.
Its successor, the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) programme, attracted over one million applicants and aims to enhance employability and promote financial literacy among young people.
Ruto further revealed plans to launch the Youth Entrepreneurship Investment Bank (YEIB) before the end of the current financial year.
The institution will be capitalized at $75 million (approximately Ksh9.705 billion) and will provide financing, credit guarantees, and capacity-building for youth-founded and youth-led businesses.
Additionally, Ruto announced that the new Kandarasi Mtaani programme will employ an additional 200,000 young people.
