Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) has announced multiple vacancies.
In a notice on Tuesday, February 18, the university asked qualified candidates to apply for various administrative, academic, and technical positions.
“In pursuit of its mission to provide transformative education through integrated quality training, research, and community engagement for sustainable development, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacant positions,” the notice read in part.
Key Job Opportunities Advertised by JOOUST
Among the key positions advertised is the Chief Security Officer (Grade 13), who will be responsible for overseeing the university’s security operations. Other security-related roles include Senior Security Officer (Grade 11), Security Officer II (Grade 9), Security Supervisor II (Grade 5), Security Guard I (Grade 4), and Security Guard II (Grade 3). The latter has the highest number of vacancies, with nine positions available.
Additionally, JOOUST is hiring a Senior Legal Officer (Grade 13) and an Assistant Procurement Officer/Stores Controller (Grade 8) to support legal and procurement functions within the institution.

Applicants are required to submit an application letter, a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV), certified copies of relevant academic and professional certificates, a National Identity Card or valid Passport, testimonials, email addresses, and telephone contacts.
Additional supporting documents may also be required.
Shortlisted candidates must provide valid evidence of compliance with the provisions of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, specifically clearance from:

- Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
- Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)
- Registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
Submission Process
Applicants should provide the names, telephone numbers, and contact addresses of three (3) referees. Additionally, referees should be requested to send confidential reports to [email protected] before the deadline.
