The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and Geothermal Development Company have announced various job opportunities.
In a notice dated April 8, both organizations called for qualified personnel to apply.

“The Teachers Service Commission is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 237 (1) of the Constitution. Pursuant to this mandate, the Commission invites applications from suitably qualified teachers for the positions outlined below, in line with the Career Progression Guidelines for Teachers,” stated the notice.
According to the notice, advertised positions include vacancies for a senior principal and senior lecturer in Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs).

One position has been advertised for a senior principal, while there are 35 positions for senior lecturers.

Interested candidates who meet the required qualifications should submit their applications online through the TSC portal – www.teachersonline.go.ke by 21st April 2025, at midnight.

The Commission also issued the following guidelines, including that manual applications will not be considered, and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
To qualify as a Senior Principal of a TTC, one must meet the following requirements:
- Professional Experience: Must have served as a principal or Deputy Principal I (T-Scale 13) for at least three years.
- Performance Ratings: Consistently achieve satisfactory scores in performance appraisals and performance contracts.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrate strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
- Academic Qualifications: Typically, a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree or its equivalent is required, with a master’s degree in education or a related field often preferred.
- Teaching Experience: Several years of teaching experience at primary or secondary school levels are essential.
- Certification and Registration: Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to meet the professional standards required.
Geothermal Development Company Announces Job Vacancies
On the other hand, the Geothermal Development Company has also advertised various job opportunities.
“Geothermal Development Company was formed as a result of the enactment of the Energy Act No. 12 of 2006, following the adoption of Sessional Paper No. 4 on Energy in 2004, which unbundled the country’s energy sector into five sub-sectors: generation, transmission, distribution, regulation, and policy.
GDC operates in the generation sub-sector. The company seeks to recruit top talent to complement the current team in implementing its mandate for the following positions,” stated the notice from the Geothermal Development Company.
Positions advertised include General Manager roles in the fields of Drilling and Infrastructure Development, Business Development, and Internal Audit & Risk Assurance.
Additionally, several managerial roles are available, including a Manager for Legal Services, a Manager for Geothermal Resource Management, and a Manager for Geothermal Resource Assessment.
Other managerial roles encompass Administration & Property Management, Information Communication and Technology, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Community Relations, Corporate Protective Services, Supply Chain Management, and Corporate Planning & Performance Management.
The organization is also seeking a Company Secretary and General Manager for Legal Services.

While creating their profile, applicants will be asked questions regarding their personal details, such as ID number, full names, and Date of Birth.
Additionally, they will need to state their academic qualifications based on the position they have applied for.

- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
- Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
3. Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
4. Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
5. A Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
