The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) has announced job openings and is inviting qualified candidates to apply.
In a notice dated April 27, 2025, the organisation stated that all available positions are based at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

“We’re hiring! We are looking for motivated candidates to join our Geneva-based climate change and health team,” the WMO announced.
The available roles are part of the WMO-WHO Joint Office for Climate and Health and focus on various aspects of climate services and health.

Vacant Positions at World Meteorological
The roles include Associate Programme Officer – Climate Services for Health (P2), with an application deadline of May 10, 2025, and Associate Programme Officer – Extreme Heat Services (P2), which closes on May 7, 2025.
The Climate and Health Communications Manager (P3) position is open until May 8, 2025, along with the Extreme Heat Technical Officer (P3).

Additionally, applications are being accepted for the Climate Services & Health Capacity and Network Coordinator (P4) and the Health Advisor for the Global Heat Health Information Network (P4), both of which have deadlines of May 8 and May 7, 2025, respectively.
Moreover, there is also an opening for an Engineer (P3) with a closing date of May 7, 2025. Lastly, the position of Data Protection Officer (DPO) is available, and candidates must apply by May 25, 2025.
Requirements & Qualifications

Associate Programme Officer – Climate Services for Health (P2)
- A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., climate sciences, environmental science, public health).
- At least two years of relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge of climate and health issues.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Associate Programme Officer – Extreme Heat Services (P2)
- A master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, meteorology, or public health).
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in the relevant field.
- Understanding of extreme heat impacts and services related to climate change.
- Experience in project management and data analysis.
Climate and Health Communications Manager (P3)
- A university degree in communications, climate science, public health, or a related field.
- At least five years of professional experience in communications and public relations.
- Experience in climate change and health communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of additional languages is an asset).
Extreme Heat Technical Officer (P3)
- A master’s degree in climate science, environmental science, or public health.
- A minimum of five years of experience working on climate and extreme heat-related topics.
- Experience with technical analysis and development of services related to extreme heat.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Climate Services & Health Capacity and Network Coordinator (P4)
- A master’s or equivalent in climate science, environmental science, public health, or a related field.
- At least seven years of professional experience in climate services or health, including project coordination.
- Expertise in managing and developing networks and capacity-building initiatives.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.

Health Advisor – Global Heat Health Information Network (P4)
- A master’s degree or higher in public health, environmental science, or a related discipline.
- At least seven years of professional experience in health and climate change-related projects.
- Proven ability to manage and collaborate in international health projects.
- Strong expertise in climate-health policy and interventions.
Engineer (P3)
- A university degree in engineering, preferably related to climate, environmental, or environmental systems engineering.
- A minimum of five years of experience in engineering or technical roles, ideally in climate-related fields.
- Knowledge of climate engineering or related technologies is an advantage.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
Data Protection Officer (P4)
- A master’s degree in law, information technology, or related fields.
- At least seven years of experience working with data protection laws and practices.
- Knowledge of international data protection standards, particularly in relation to privacy and security.
- Strong experience in handling data governance and compliance issues.
