Brygettes Ngana is an award-winning multimedia journalist at Nation Media Group, known for her impactful work covering current affairs, climate, science, and human-interest stories.
Based in Nakuru County, she is a skilled mobile journalist (mojo) who brings stories to life with authenticity and urgency.
As a result, Ngana bagged the prestigious Journalist of the Year Award at the 2025 Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA2025), organized by the Media Council of Kenya.
With experience of over 6 years, Brygettes previously worked with KTN and later moved to NTV, where she is currently working as a reporter.

In 2023, Nation Media’s Science and Health journalist, Brygettes Ngana, was awarded the Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology in Africa (OFAB) awards after getting the first runners up position in the continental competition, in the television category.
Brygettes Ngana told mental stories of journalist
In August 2024, Brygettes Ngana told the stories of journalist and media personalities who battled with mental health.
In her production, Behind the Byline, which aired on NTV, she revealed how working environment sometimes exacerbated mental health.
“One in four Kenyans suffers from mental illness, but there is no substantive data and research on the mental health of journalists, a gap that is now becoming more evident in the wake of public mental health crises and appeals for help from journalists,” part of script read.

Some of the stories told included that of Kimani Mbugua.
“Journalism did me a number, the bond between Kimani Mbugua and I runs deep, I know he’ll be back,” she said on her post.
The 2025 AJEA Awards
Brygettes, among other journalists, lit up the 2025 Annual Journalism Excellence Awards.
She won the Journalist of the Year Award.
“Guys! We won the Journalist of the Year Award at the 2025 Annual Journalism Excellence Awards! Grateful to everyone who allowed us to share their stories,” said Ngana.
Ngana went ahead to inspire upcoming journalists to keep their eyes on the ball.
“Dear young journalist, this is your sign to keep being persistent, present, patient and true to that inner fire that makes you a storyteller. It doesn’t matter where you are or which media house you belong to. Grateful to raise the Journalist of the Year Award at AJEA 2025!”
