Bitange Ndemo is a Kenyan diplomat, currently serving as Kenya’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium.

Age and Early Life
He was born in 1959 in Manga, Kisii County.
He has a half-brother, Lawrence Sagini, who was a Member of the Parliament of Kitutu Chache and Kenya’s first Minister for Natural Resources.

Bitange Ndemo Educational Background
Ndemo graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota in 1988.

He later graduated with a master’s degree in management in Information Systems from the University of St. Thomas Minnesota in 1991.
In 2001, Ndemo obtained a PhD in Industrial Economics from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom.
Career Background
In 2022, he was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta as Kenya’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium.
Besides administrative position, Dr Ndemo has served as a professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Nairobi School of Business.
From 2013 to 2018, he worked as an associate professor and a senior lecturer at the University of Nairobi.
He also served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Communications in the Government of Kenya 2005 under former president Mwai Kibaki.
In the 1990s, he worked in the USA as a Senior Financial Analyst at Medtronic Company before returning to Kenya in 1993.
He has worked as an academic and newspaper columnist with the Daily Nation and Business Daily.

In 2006, he was awarded the prestigious Chief of the Burning Spear of Kenya status by then President Mwai Kibaki.
