Kenyan Comedian Henry Desagu received Ksh1 million as a gift shortly after coming out of his rehabilitation program.
Kenyans of good will pulled together to raise the money for Desagu whose content creation career had taken an unexpected turn.

Among the notable people who contributed are Kiambu Woman Representative Anne Muratha, Member of Parliament for Gatundu Elijah Njoroge, popular singer Samidoh, Mofarm Jm, and businesswoman Damaris Wa Dama spares.
“I have every reason to glorify God for a great event. Thanks for the 1M support. May God open new doors for me and change my Life for the better,” he said in a statement.

At the same time, Desagu thanked everyone who has played a crucial role in ensuring his speedy recovery.

Desagu has been battling depression. In his speech, the comedian expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the friends who have stood with him.

He further said that his struggle with depression and alcoholism was the lowest moment in his life.
Kenyan singer Samidoh presented the gift to the comedian and wished him well in his new journey.
Desagu’s Battle with Depression
Following reports that the comedian is unwell, Mofarm JM a close friend, came to his aid and offered to take him to a rehabilitation clinic.
MP Elijah Njoroge further shared details of Desagu’s condition, revealing that he had been hospitalized at Mathari Hospital.
A video of a seemingly disturbed Desagu while walking along the Thika-Ngoingwa Road had surafced online to spark speculations about his health.
He was rescued by a kind-hearted netizen who took him to the Thika Level 5 Hospital where he started receiving urgent medical attention.
However, he later refuted the claims in a viral video and assured his fans and supporters that he was doing well before he completely had a mental breakdown.

Fund Raiser for His Rehab
A fundraising campaign to raise Ksh 1 million began after it was confirmed that his condition was worsening and critical.
The fund drive was led by influential figures including former Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Moses Kuria, Samidoh, Njoroge Kururia, Dama Wa Spares, and Dennis Itumbi.
“We will not watch as this great boychild, Henry DeSagu, whose comedy brings laughter to all of us, is brought down by depression and alcoholism. We will pray for his recovery, have him get quality medical attention, and get our lively Desagu back,” Njoroge Kururia said.
