Khalif Kairo Clarifies Running to the US to Avoid Arrest

Social media influencer and car dealer Joseph Kairu Wambui alias Khalif Kairo has spoken about his planned trip to the U.S. amid allegations of his arrest.

In a statement on Saturday, January 11, the Kai and Karo Yard owner explained that he had scheduled meetings in New York in the following week to raise funds for his company.

“I had a couple of investor meetings in New York scheduled this week to raise funds for http://kaiandkaro.com. We are targeting a seed investors’ round through a SAFE instrument. Shoot an email via khalif@khalifkairo.com for more info,” Kairo stated.

His statement comes amid claims that he was attempting to flee to the United States to avoid arrest.

However, Dr. Mbiti Mwondi, a close associate of Kairo, dismissed the allegations, clarifying that he had planned to meet with investors in New York the following week. He added that Kairo was also scheduled to meet with investors locally on the evening of Saturday, January 11, refuting claims that he was trying to escape arrest.

Dr. Mbiti further attached a copy of Kairo’s air ticket as evidence, showing that he would only be staying in the U.S. for a week.

“Your favorite failed economist turned blogger, who’s on payroll to attack Kairo, is lying that he’s running away. As late as yesterday, we helped set up a meeting with five investors in New York, and he was scheduled to be there for just a week.

Even this evening, we arranged two meetings with major potential investors locally. Here’s the two-way ticket, yet they claim he was fleeing on a one-way ticket. No one has ever gotten rich or successful from hate,” Mbiti defended Kairo.
