Musician Esther Akoth famously known as Akothee expressed her aggressions on social media against people who wait for celebrities to die before they show them love.
She noted that celebrities including musicians and public figures become very famous when they are dead.
“Everybody is posting rest in peace, they are posting TBT, the photos they took together with the same person but not even one day, off cameras, did they pick up their phones and call to check up on the same person,” Akothee pointed out.
Addressing her fans and fellow celebrities on TikTok, Akothee stated that upon her death, she does not want her photos shared by people who did not support or celebrate her when she was alive.
“I don’t want it, if you don’t appreciate, celebrate and support me when I am alive do not post my photos,” she voiced.
Hypocritical Tendencies
She condemned the hypocrisy showcased by such people who post celebrities as a way of making themselves feel better and look relevant about knowing the person.

“It disturbs me quite a lot, because these same people, you don post them on their birthdays, you do not come up to them when they are being attacked or trolled, you don’t follow up on them if they are doing well or not,” she said.
Akothee further said that it did not sit well with her when fans showed more love and support after celebrities die, questioning where the same love and support was when they were alive.
“When we are alive and entertaining you, where are you?” she posed.
Akothee Addresses Fellow Celebrities
Likewise, Akothee confronted her fellow celebrities warning them against showing fake support when she dies.
She spoke of the magnitude of competition among celebrities illustrating the motive behind posting photos of her when she dies as a way of promoting their pages to get likes and comments.

“Why are you posting my photos when I am dead? So that people can know one way or the other you associated with me? No, you are posting it for likes and comments because you page is dormant,” she lashed out.
Akothee continued to say that the people who are most affected are normally the family members and those whom they made a positive impact to not the hypocrites who express fake condolences for likes and comments.
“For some it is content whereas for some it is mourning their lost loved one. Which world are we living in?” She added.
