CCTV footage has revealed the last moments before 25-year-old Festus Oromo fell from the 14th floor of Heartland Apartments in Kilimani, Nairobi.
The footage, established by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), shows Festus arriving at Room B1406 on the 14th floor of the Heartland Apartments at 4:12 pm, before a man with a scarf that hides his identity comes seven minutes later with a brown bag in his hand and knocks on the door of his room.
The man handed over the package to Festus before leaving immediately.
Nine hours later, at exactly 1:06 a.m., a man now identified by the DCI as Patrick, and in custody at the Kilimani police station, stepped out of the same apartment Festus had booked.
Patrick, dressed in a black hoodie and blue jeans, stayed at the door for a minute before going back into the room and was seen again seven minutes later in the company of Festus Oromo, leaving room B1406.
The two are seen having a conversation while laughing as Patrick holds a drink in his hand and leaves towards the building’s exit.
Moments later, Patrick returned alone, now wearing a black vest, shorts, and sandals, and headed toward the lift.
At 1:15 a.m., Festus came back to the apartment, knocked on the door, and walked toward the lift area before returning a minute later.
At 1:16 a.m., he entered the apartment again.
Festus Oromo’s Last Moments
CCTV footage captured a visible scuffle between Festus and a woman identified as Lilian Mbeki inside the apartment, before Festus locked the door and marked the last time Festus was ever seen alive.
The surveillance cameras showed that at exactly 1:57 a.m., Festus’ lifeless body landed on the roof of a white personal car on the ground floor of Heartland Apartments.
Security guards of the building confirmed that Festus’ body was unresponsive at the time the guards arrived, a report that the Kilimani detectives supported.
Sleuths have since arrested Lilian and Patrick, who will remain in custody for 14 days as detectives search for new leads and conduct forensic analysis.
Festus Oromo’s body has been transferred to the General Cargo Mortuary from the Nairobi Funeral Home by his family members as investigations continue.
The police revealed that Festus Oromo had checked into the room with Lilian, a 48-year-old woman he had met on Tinder.

They have not disclosed the motive yet, but have indicated that the apartment was a crime scene and that the confrontation inside happened just before the fatal fall.
Police warning During the Festive Season
Kenya’s police and DCI warned that holiday parties and social gatherings pose increased risks of crime and personal harm.
Revellers are urged to avoid overcrowded, unregulated venues and ensure events have licensed security personnel.
The DCI has also advised against meeting strangers in private spaces, and revellers should choose public, well-lit locations and inform friends of their whereabouts.
Authorities caution against drink spiking, a growing trend where criminals drug victims before robbing them.
Revellers should always watch their drinks, avoid accepting beverages from strangers, and stay in groups.

“Celebrate responsibly—your safety is our priority,” the advisory states.
Party hosts must comply with safety laws, including proper crowd control and emergency exits. Police have also stressed on moderation, stating that excessive alcohol impairs judgment and increases vulnerability to theft, assault, and accidents.
Kenyans are urged to report suspicious behavior immediately via 999 or the DCI hotline.
