Ex-Raila Aide Blasts Ndindi Nyoro

A former aide to Kenya’s AUC candidate and Azimio leader Raila Odinga has criticized Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro over what he calls “unequal resource distribution” in the constituencies.

Seth Odongo alias Dikembe Dikembe, who has been vocal in his criticism of the current government asserted that Kiharu is unfairly benefiting from national resources at the expense of other, larger constituencies.

He claimed that Kiharu is a small constituency with fewer than 67 schools- both primary and secondary.

Despite its size, Disembe alleged that Kiharu receives the same amount of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) as larger constituencies like Ndhiwa, which has over 400 schools.

“Kiharu is a small constituency that should have been scrapped off and merged with proper boundary delimitation. With less than 67 schools (both primary and secondary) yet receives the same amount of CDF as expansive Ndhiwa, with more than 400 schools,” Dikembe stated.

Dikembe Disembe Blasts Ndindi Nyoro Over Resource Distributions

He further alleged that as the Budget Chair, Nyoro has the ability to divert more national government resources, thereby creating an image of “development” that overlooks the disproportionate allocation of funds.

“As budget chair, Ndindi is able to chop off more national govt resources. He can then parade his ‘development’ and be celebrated by those who do not understand that he runs one of the smallest electoral units, gobbling, unfairly, large national resources,” said Dikembe.

“Beneficiaries of this uneven resource equity will then come on these platforms to lecture the rest of us.”

Dikembe Disembe’s criticism comes after Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro’s post on Friday, January 10, announcing the launch of the Kiharu Masomo Bora 2025 program at Mugoiri Mixed Day Secondary School.

Ndindi Nyoro stated that the program covers over 10,000 learners in day secondary schools in Kiharu.

What Kiharu Masomo Bora Program Entails

At the same time, a substantial Ksh100 million kitty will be allocated over the next two years for infrastructure development in all day secondary schools, with a specific focus on building and upgrading laboratories and computer labs.

Furthermore, revision books will be provided to ensure that students have access to the necessary materials for their studies.

The programme will also include the provision of uji and lunch for six days a week, with a special chapati lunch served on the last Friday of every month in all day secondary schools.

Additionally, schools offering remedial or tuition classes will have their fees capped at Ksh1,000 to make extra learning more affordable for students.

Another significant aspect of the programme is the funding of prize-giving ceremonies in the two sub-counties and provision of revision books.

Moreover, there will be motivation for principals of the best and most improved day schools in each ward, with 12 principals—two from each of the six wards—receiving trips to Dubai.

In addition, teachers of the best-improved subjects will be rewarded with trips to Mombasa.

The programme also covers all learners, including those from outside Kiharu, as long as they attend schools within the region and an additional allocation to boost the activity budget.
