A family in Kayole area of Nairobi is demanding for justice after their 3-year-old son was electrocuted.
The child was reportedly playing with his friends on the balcony on Wednesday December 13 before he stepped on a live naked electric wire.
According to witnesses, the boy was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
“I was alerted by other children who told me the child had fallen. I rushed him to the nearest hospital but was told there was no Oxygen,” the boys guardian stated.
“I then went to Mama Lucy Hospital where he was confirmed dead on arrival,” she added.

As such, the family now wants the management of the apartment to take responsibility for leaving electric wires in the building exposed.
“We are in a lot of pain, we don’t know what to do. We appeal for help so that the child can get justice because all this has been caused by the naked live wire in the balcony, which the child stepped on as they were playing,” a close family friend appealed.
Furthermore, the body of the boy was moved to the Mama Lucy Morgue pending autopsy and other procedures.

According to reports by the neighbors, the kids mother left them inside the house as she left for work in the early hours.
Later in the day, they were attracted by screams and huge smoke from the plot and rushed to help the tenants.
“People arrived in large numbers. Efforts to put out the fire were futile since so many items belonging to the tenants were damaged,” Lillian Nyambura, a resident said.
