The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has donated Ksh3 million to the Dorcas Rigathi Foundation to help in the rehabilitation of the boychild.
In a statement on Wednesday, November 29, the company noted that the donation was made through its the philanthropic arm.
Present during the ceremony were KPC Board Chairperson Faith Boinett, KPC MD Joe Sang, General Manager Strategy Zilper Abongo, KPC Safety Health and Environment Manager Carol Kiplagat and KPC Foundation staff Bosco Yokomoi.
“Today, Kenya Pipeline through its philanthropic arm KPC Foundation presented a cheque of Ksh3 million in support of programs targeting the boy child and vulnerable groups run under the Dorcas Rigathi Foundation (DRF),” the company stated.

Dorcas Gachagua Speaks During the Ceremony
Speaking during the ceremony, the second lady emphasized the importance of taking care of the boychild adding that many of them had wasted away.
“Dorcas Rigathi foundation intends to inspire, mentor and empower young men and youth and reshape their destiny and dignify their lives.
“So that they can become good bread winners, they can be fathers and priest holders of the house because that is what a man is. And I believe as we continue to do this day by day, it is enough,” she stated.
Further, she reiterated that it was crucial for men to be empowered as the society could only thrive when the man is whole.
“To dignify a man is actually to dignify a community. Many say that once you invest in a woman, you invest in a society,
“But I also believe that you are going to have a balanced family and a community that is thriving, you have to have to invest in a man,” added the second lady.

Uproar Over Privatization of Kenya Pipeline
In a notice through the National Treasury, the government listed Kenya Pipeline among other state entities that would be sold to investors under the privatization drive.
According to the government, the privatization of the companies aligned with the government’s objectives of achieving fiscal consolidation and promoting economic development.
Giving reason for the sale, the notice stated that Kenya Pipeline had monopolistic characteristics and ongoing legal cases affecting it.
The announcement sparked criticism from Kenyans who argued that it was all a ploy by President William Ruto to get Kenyans into even more debt.
Earlier, activist and lawyer Okiya Omtatah hinted at taking legal action against the government over the sale of parastatals including the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
According to Omtatah, the move was as a result of a deal made with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that would only sink Kenyans into more debt, as it lost profitable entities to foreigners.
