Police Officers have gunned down a suspect involved in the murder of two people in Kamano, Kajiado County.
According to reports, the suspect named Maina killed the two by hitting them with a hammer on the head.
However, the police shot Maina after he tried to escape using the police vehicle that was parked at the scene.
Oloitoktok Police Commander David Maina Kabuthia said the suspect arrived at the first victim’s house and tried to forcefully enter his vehicle.
“The accused now the deceased confronted the old man with an iron bar clogged him on the head killing him instantly,” said Kabuthia.
Further, he explained that the children raised alarm and their neighbor who is about 20 metres away from the home of the first diseased came out to assist the old man.
However, the neighbor ran back to the house for safety upon noticing that the assailant was armed with a weapon.
“Before he could enter the house, this assailant caught up with him, hit him using the same iron bar killing him on the spot,” added the Police Commander.
For this reason, Kabuthia explained that police officers had no choice but to shoot the suspect who resisted arrest.
“Police officers tried to arrest this person but with the use of the said iron bar he resisted arrest and aimed at the driver. The police had no other thing but shoot this person dead,” he said.

Police Investigate Woman Murder Case
In June, a woman killed her two children aged 10 and two over disagreements with her husband in Kajiado County.
The woman is said to have set her house on fire with the two children inside at Saina estate in Kajiado Central constituency.
According to detectives the woman could been angered by her husband’s decision to marry a second wife.
Reports alleged that the husband was cohabiting with another woman and had been away from the home few weeks before the incident.

Additionally, the woman sustained serious burns and was rushed to Kajiado County Referral Hospital.
On the other hand, the bodies of the two children were taken to the mortuary wing of the hospital for autopsy.
Rift Valley regional police commander Tom Odera said they were investigating the incident to establish what happened.
