Mary Biketi has clarified reports of a breakup with Cooperative Cabinet Secretary (CS) Wycliffe Oparanya.
Biketi was responding to a Facebook post by a user named Sydney Keari.
In the post, Keari shared an anonymous message he received claiming that the two had parted ways.
The sender alleged that the relationship between Oparanya and Biketi ended a long time ago.
According to the sender, Biketi had relocated from Kileleshwa in Nairobi to either Syokimau or Mlolongo in Machakos.
The messenger also claimed that Biketi became broke but is still using Oparanya’s popularity to remain relevant.
Relationship ya Oparanya na side hen iliisha kitambo sana, the chic moved from Kileleshwa nowadays ako Syokimau/ Mlolongo alisota. She is still trying to ride on Mheshimiwa’s name.
Biketi responded to these claims, stating that people were being foolish and she was still living in a suburb.
Mko na ujinga. Bado niko suburbs.
This translates to “You people are being foolish. I’m still living in a good neighbourhood.”
Definition of Suburb
Oxford Learner’s Dictionaries define suburb as an area where people live that is outside the centre of a city.
Going by this definition, Nairobi suburbs include Westlands, Kilimani, Lavington, Karen, Runda, Parklands, Kileleshwa, Lang’ata, Embakasi, and South C.
How Biketi and Oparanya Met
In a past interview, Biketi said she met Oparanya on a flight from Wilson Airport to Kisumu.
The two met again at the Tamarind Hotel in Nairobi, and their relationship began to grow closer.
Her parents supported their relationship, and they later formalised their union when Oparanya visited her family.

Being a 3rd Wife
Biketi said she is comfortable being the third wife as long as her needs are met and she is content.
“As long as I’m okay and have everything I need, I don’t stress. He always comes back to me. After me, there will be no other,” she declared.
Biketi emphasised that she will not accept interference from outsiders, adding that she respects Oparanya’s past relationships and wives.
Oparanya’s relationship with Biketi sparked discussions and debates across social media platforms in April 2024.

Photos on Social Media
Biketi faced backlash for sharing photos featuring herself and Oparanya.
However, Oparanya addressed the issue, confirming that the photos were genuine and people should stop wasting time sharing them.
He stated that the photos were leaked to the media but insisted that they were decent.
“I have seen someone circulating my photos, genuine photos. Those are very genuine photos. I don’t know why someone wastes time trying to circulate them, but it is unfortunate they leaked it to the press. Those are very decent photos, and I don’t know the interest that people have,” Oparanya said.
“I have a family to protect. I have been in Mombasa here for a few days meeting my own people from my own community,” he added.
Oparanya is a polygamous man with two wives, Priscilla Oparanya and Caroline Oparanya.
