“I received a phone call later with the news of his passing. We have buried his father just this week. His father did not even rest for a week before he was shot dead.

“We don’t know how to handle this. The family is devastated, and we do not even have the resources to give him a proper send off,” said Rose.

Further, Rose revealed that she warned her son against going to the protest, but he was determined to go, even against her wishes.

Michael went to the streets with his friends, including Jeremy, who delivered the devastating news to the family.

“I heard that my son had gone to the protests. I called him and asked him not to go but I was told later that he took his motorcycle and left,” she said.
