MultiChoice has integrated Showmax into DStv Stream, bringing content from both platforms into one place.
The migration comes ahead of the scheduled closure of the standalone Showmax service on April 30, 2026, with the transition aimed at maintaining access to its library of African productions.
DStv Stream will consolidate live television and on-demand entertainment, including movies, series, and sports, into a single streaming platform.
The Showmax section will sit alongside other content offerings within the app.
Access to Showmax Originals will be available to DStv Compact and DStv Premium customers, covering both satellite and streaming-only subscribers.
Users will have temporary access to the content at no extra cost until May 31, 2026.
What will be available to watch
The dedicated Showmax section on DStv Stream will feature a range of popular local and international titles, including The Wife, Youngins (winner of Best Telenovela at the 2026 SAFTAs), Law, Love and Betrayal, Devilsdorp, and Adulting.
It will also include African series such as Wura and Single Kiasi, alongside international on-demand content, including selected Real Housewives franchises, and Starfleet Academy.
Additionally, the Burbs and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. Afrikaans titles such as Die Kantoor and Koek will also be available.

The section will sit within a wider DStv Stream offering, which includes tens of thousands of hours of on-demand movies and series, as well as more than 100 live TV channels available around the clock.
Unlike the previous Showmax Premier League offering, which was limited to mobile devices, DStv Stream will be accessible on both smart TVs and mobile devices.
Sport will remain a key part of the platform through SuperSport, with coverage of major competitions such as the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, LaLiga, and the Betway Premiership.
