Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has revealed that Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has taken him to court.
Speaking to the press on December 7, Cherargei claimed that Murkomen sued him over his demands for the development of roads in Nandi County.
Further, the Senator stated that the CS had singled him out and recently launched several verbal attacks against him in different locations.
“The CS of roads has taken me to court,” Cherargei said in the presser.
“He has not just taken me, but the entire one million plus residents of Nandi to court because of asking for fairness and equity in development of roads.”

Speaking to the press, Cherargei further claimed that the roads CS had been attacking him for a long time and even sent goons to attack him.
He, however, vowed to fight for the people of Nandi in his quest to lobby for road projects.
“I have sad news for him. I will fight this thing in court, in air, in sea, in bed, under the bed, on top of seats and everywhere until the people of Nandi get quality roads,” added Cherargei.

Earlier Woes Between the Politicians
On November 22, the conflict between the two politicians manifested when Murkomen was appearing before the Senate for questioning.
Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang’wa rose to direct a question to the transport CS.
However, before the senator voiced his sentiments, Cherargei requested to rise on a point of order.
The speaker declined to grant him an opportunity and asked him to sit down and allow Murkomen to respond to the question first.
Cherargei was later kicked out of the house after refusing to follow the Speaker’s directive.
“Let the CS answer the questions first. You cannot raise point of order,” Senator Haji ruled.
“Cheragei at this point I will find you of order. This is not a funeral. Leave the house,” the speaker ordered.
In response Murkomen ridiculed Cherargei noting, “I left this house when senators were maintaining very high level of dignity. And I think that should be kept because we really treasure you.”
