Muthama Pledges To Give 50% Of His Salary To Needy Children If Elected Machakos Governor

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party chairperson Johnson Muthama while addressing Machakos residents on Tuesday, July 12 pledged to give half of his salary to needy children to facilitate their schooling if he is voted in as Machakos governor in the upcoming August 9 polls.

Muthama further promised to champion for the education of children, and fully equip hospitals within the county.

“I do not need a salary. Per my manifesto, I will give out 50% of my salary to needy children so that they can go to school,” he said.

At the same time, the legislator stressed that his intention for the county boss seat is not to profit himself from the people’s finances but to safeguard them for a better and accessorized community.

Nonetheless, Mr. Muthama is facing other strong candidates looking to succeed the incumbent governor Alfred Mutua.

Among Muthama’s competitors for the Machakos gubernatorial post are; Former transport & infrastructure CAS Wavinya Ndeti, Deputy Governor Francis Maliti,  Rose Mulwa of the Empowerment and Liberation Party, and former State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita.
