The Nakuru Level 5 Hospital has called on the members of the public to help in identifying 28 adult unclaimed bodies at the facility’s mortuary that have been waiting for identification and collection.
The hospital has issued a 21-day public notice to members of the public within 21 days to identify and collect the bodies failure to which an authority to dispose the bodies will be issued.
Cap 242 of the Public Health Act allows the disposal of any unclaimed body with the permission of a court of law.
Nakuru county Public Health Officer Mr George Gachomba said that the county has exhausted all the available mechanisms to trace their next of kins to the deceased persons without success.
