Ng’ondi Dismisses Azimio House Leadership List, Claims He Was Misled

Nairobi Assembly Speaker Ken Ng’ondi has revoked the list of Azimio One Kenya coalition party house leadership which he read out yesterday.

Ng’ondi who read the list shortly after being sworn in claimed he was misled.

According to the list, Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok will be the majority Leader, to be deputized by Laini Saba MCA John Ndile.

Moreover, the purported list indicated that Kilimani MCA Moses Ogeto will be the Majority Whip and Upper Savannah MCA Stazo Omungala will deputize him.

In addition, nominated member Catherine Okoth was to represent the County Assembly Board.

Nonetheless, Ng’ondi revoked the list, saying it did not originate from the nominating party as required by the standing orders.

“The purported nomination is hereby revoked, and the offices remain vacant until official communication from the nominating party formally presents its list of leadership in accordance with the standing orders,” the speaker added.

Furthermore, Ng’ondi noted that the list was provided when he was not properly in office and that the communication did not constitute the business for the day as per the gazette notice, hence invalid.

Speaker Ng’ondi also directed those investigations be conducted, and stern disciplinary measures taken against officers who conspired to mislead him.
