Prism Tower is one of the tallest buildings in Kenya, with 34 floors and a height of 133 meters. It has become an iconic landmark along Third Ngong Avenue in Upper Hill in Nairobi County.

The building is a visual anchor symbolizing progress and modernity in Nairobi.

Its striking design has made it a recognizable feature of the city, admired by residents and visitors alike.

The building ownership is linked to several prominent people, including former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero. It was developed and owned by Kings Developers Limited (KDL), part of the Royal Group of Companies.

The Tower was designed by A+I Design, while Yong Li SunFrame Construction Consulting Co Ltd supplied its materials.

According to Skyscraper Centre, Prism Tower is the 6th tallest building in Nairobi, the 56th in Africa and the 9543rd in the world.

It was proposed in 2011; construction started in 2013 and was completed in 2018.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta presided over the building’s launching ceremony in August 2018.

Kings Developers explains that Prism Tower achieves its primary goals of shaping the skyline of Nairobi in a way that would be impossible to overlook.

The Company states that the tower’s architectural form, reminiscent of a prism, reflects the developers’ commitment to creating something unique and memorable.

“Prism Tower building immediately catches the eye and has become a symbol of modern Nairobi,” reads a statement by Kings Developers.

Why KDL Chose Upper Hill

Kings Developers chose Upper Hill since it is one of Nairobi’s rapidly developing areas, known for its concentration of business and commercial activities.

The Prism Tower’s strategic placement on 3rd Avenue Ngong offers easy access to the central business district, major highways, and key government institutions.

This prime location ensures that businesses operating from The Prism Tower are well-connected and positioned for success.

Facilities Available at Prism Tower

Prism Tower offers 28 levels of office spaces, starting from the 6th floor, to provide a stunning view.

There is a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating available on level 1.

The building features full glass cladding and office sizes ranging from medium to large, with provisions for private toilets and pantries.

Each floor has separate designer bathrooms for men and women, along with elegant lobbies and a reception area.

Prism Tower includes six levels of parking, with an additional 56 stack car parking spaces on the 5th floor.

Recreational amenities include an indoor temperature-controlled swimming pool, a fully equipped gym, separate saunas and lockers for men and women, a podium-level garden, and a seminar room accommodating 20 people.

Besides, the building is equipped with advanced fire safety systems, including a fire alarm system, intelligent fire pumps (diesel & electric), sprinklers in offices and common areas, and heat and smoke detectors.

Other measures include a closed-circuit TV system and a public address/music system (PA/BGM).

There is an efficient water supply for the entire building, a centralized satellite TV system, high-speed internet access on every office level, and a building maintenance unit on the roof for façade cleaning.

The tower also has a Building Management System (BMS) that monitors and controls services from a central location.

Prism Tower has provisions for disabled-friendly toilets in common areas.
