Apostle Michael Mband of Ransomed of The Lord Church has criticized President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga for their handshake, which came shortly after the launch of the African Union Commission (AUC) bid.
While addressing a congregation, the pastor expressed his opposition to the perceived handshake between the two leaders, stating that many Kenyans lost their lives during the anti-government protests.
He questioned how Ruto and Raila could come together and declare their intention to work together after such significant loss and turmoil.
“The coming together of Ruto and Raila has already shown us that politicians are birds of the same feathers and will always walk together as long as their interests converge. They always sit and eat together,” he said.
“I am against it. There’s no way government, politicians can always be uniting for their own selfish gains to oppress Kenyans, this is oppression.”
Apostle Michael Speaks on Raila AUC Bid
He alleged that Ruto deceived Raila into believing he was being considered for the AUC chairperson role, despite the many issues facing his own country.
Apostle Michael stated that he does not support Raila because of the lives lost in Kondele, Kisumu during the anti-government demonstrations against the Kenya Kwanza administration.
“For that reason, I 70% doubt about if Raila will make it and I pray that he fails in that quest. If he makes it, okay, but I, Apostle Michael Mband, I don’t support,” he said.
“I know many people will say I don’t care; my heart is not your heart. It is your heart that does not care. You can say whatever you want, you have your mouth, I’ve said my own, everybody in his office.”

He questioned why Raila could not just stand with the people, adding that if he was tired of going to the streets, he could have stepped aside and allowed those who wanted to continue the fight to proceed.
The apostle went on to state that if Raila was truly serious about his patriotism for the Kenyan people, “he shouldn’t have joined hands with Ruto.”
“We cannot have politicians that are chameleons, always changing, they’re getting richer and richer, and Kenyans are getting poorer and poorer,” added Mband.
He added that politicians are always one thing that will fight in public and converge to eat together.
The preacher went own stating that if Kenyans want to defeat the political class, they must drop their tribal card and carry the Kenyan card and say they are Kenyans.
