Popular Kenyan politician Alinur Mohamed has publicly accused the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Ukasi Police Station, Nicholas Memusi, of impounding his shipment of rice despite what he says was full compliance with the law.
In a statement, Alinur Mohamed said the consignment was legally his and intended for lawful distribution.
He stated that he had submitted all required documents and fully cooperated with the authorities, but the goods remain detained.
“I am speaking out because I have been pushed to the wall and left with no choice.”
Alinur Mohamed Claims of Full Compliance
Alinur Mohamed maintained that he followed due process in acquiring and transporting the shipment.
He said he presented every required document and engaged with officers respectfully and transparently.
According to him, the rice was legally owned, and there were no grounds for its detention.
He expressed concern that, despite meeting the legal requirements, the consignment remains at the Ukasi Police Station.
“The OCS of Ukasi Police Station, Nicholas Memusi, has impounded my shipment of rice goods that are legally mine and meant for lawful distribution.”
Alinur Mohamed further stated that no formal charges have been brought against him in relation to the shipment.
He said he has not received any written explanation outlining the reasons for the impoundment.
Allegations of Lack of Due Process
The politician described the continued detention of the goods as unlawful.
He cited what he termed “silence” from the authorities and the absence of official communication regarding the matter.
