President William Ruto and several Cabinet Secretaries have announced fresh appointments and reappointments across key state corporations and boards
The changes published in the Kenya Gazette span multiple sectors, including defence, treasury and economic planning, health, education, and interior and national administration.
In a notice dated January 30, 2026, Ruto reappointed members of the State Corporations Advisory Committee for a three-year term, effective February 4, 2026, including Ahmed Abdi Rashid, Mary Murangi Mugo, Claire Sifuna Wanyama, and Caroline Cherono Kilisha.
Ruto Reappoints State Corporations Advisory Committee
“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 26 (1) (e) of the State Corporations Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint Ahmed Abdi Rashid, Mary Murangi Mugo, Claire Sifuna Wanyama, and Caroline Cherono Kilisha, as members of the State Corporations Advisory Committee, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 4th February, 2026,” read part of the notice.
Previously, he had reappointed Phillip Mong’ony as the Non-Executive Chairperson for a three-year term, and Muyumba Simon Indimuli as Secretary to the Committee for a three-year term.

Appointments by CSs
Several Cabinet Secretaries have also exercised their powers to appoint chairpersons and members of selection panels for various state agencies.
The Cabinet Secretary for the Interior and National Administration, Kipchumba Murkomen, appointed Benjamin Kiprono Kuttoh as a member of the Board of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse for a period of three years.
On her part, the Cabinet Secretary for Defence, Roselinda Soipan Tuya, also appointed members to the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans for a one-year term, including Brig (Rtd.) Isaac Njoroge Muchendu, Brig (Rtd.) Hosea Abinya Oduor, Lt. Col. (Rtd.) Esther Wambui Njombo, Capt. (Rtd.) Nelson Wekulo Oditypo, WO I (Rtd.) Ashford Miriti Ndubi, WO I (Rtd.) Joseph Kithome Muindi, WO II (Rtd.) Rebecca Morogo Cheserem, and Sgt. (Rtd.) Rehema Athman Said.
The Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, John Mbadi Ng’ongo, also made changes by reappointing Anne Rimbaine Lengerded and Joseph Kipkemboi Ngetich to the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation Board.
Mbadi also reappointed James Agembe Akali to the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority Board for the same period.
On his part, Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, Cabinet Secretary for Co-operatives and MSMEs Development, appointed George Kingori Gathogo to the Advisory Board of the Financial Inclusion Fund for a three-year term.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba made several university council appointments, including Kenneth O. Maena to Tom Mboya University, Joseph Tuikong Rotich to Koitaleel Samoei University College, and Ronald Leposo Musengi, Jacob Wangai Gitau, and Joseph Omanya Nyotumba to the Eldoret National Polytechnic, all for three-year terms.
Ogamba also revoked previous appointments at the Murang’a University of Technology, the Open University of Kenya, and Machakos University.
“IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 36 (1) (d) of the Universities Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Education revokes the appointment of— ALLAN MUGAMBI MICHAEL as a member of the Council of the Murang’a University of Technology, with effect from the 30th January, 2026,” read part of the notice.
Meanwhile, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has appointed Dr. Patrisio Njiru Njeru to the Board of Directors of the Kenya National Public Health Institute for a three-year term.
