Consumer Federation of Kenya (COFEK) Secretary General Stephen Mutoro has asked President William Ruto to keep an eye on Maverick Aoko, a controversial Kenyan on Twitter.
In a statement, Mutoro asked the president to direct the Director General of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), Noordin Haji and his team to monitor Aoko and check on her at least once a month.
“If I was President William Ruto, I would ask DG, NIS to pay very close attention to Aoko and have 5min brief on her at least once a month,” he said.
Further, Mutoro admitted that Aoko’s views are real and uncensored.
“Some of her political views represent many other silent voices. You can only ignore her at your peril,” he said.
In his argument, Mutoro says President Ruto is a great man.
He however claimed that there are some people around the president who keep destroying him every day.
“They are bossy and messy. Have excessive sense of entitlement and extreme impunity and keen to line their pockets,” he said.
Additionally, Mutoro noted that some of Ruto’s allies were beggars until late 2022 but they cannot pick calls now and or answer messages of ordinary mortals.
He accused them of sounding more presidential than the boss himself.
“They quickly forgot that the positions they hold came out of Ruto’s many years of toil and sweat.
Someone listen to her before it is late,” he said.
However, Mutoro stated that he has never met Aoko and does not agree with her bluntness in addressing societal issues.
“It’s her style and she has little or no time for euphemism. I now understand why,” he said.

Aoko is known for picking fights with any Kenyan regardless of their class – be it the rich in the leafy suburbs of Nairobi or the street urchins.
She also claims to have had affairs with a chain of prominent politicians in the country, both in opposition and in government.
