Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, through Israeli forces, has launched fresh attacks on Gaza by launching an Israeli airstrike on the Al-Mawasi displacement camp in Gaza’s Khan Younis, which has killed five Palestinians, among them two children, on the night of Wednesday, December 3, 2025.
Viral footage doing rounds on social media showed occupants of the camp rescuing the little they had with the help of several rescuers and firefighters.
Medical teams revealed that the dead were two women aged 46 and 30, a 36-year-old man, and two boys aged eight and 10. The airstrike also reportedly injured about 32 people, who were treated in the hospital, the medics said.
Netanyahu Goes After Al-Mawasi Camp After Hamas Reportedly Killed Some IDF Soldiers
Rescue workers told the BBC they recovered the bodies from the al-Najaat camp, a cluster of tents that has housed hundreds of displaced people in recent months.
Following the attack, the Israeli military issued a statement saying the strike was necessary because it had “struck a Hamas terrorist” after five of its soldiers were wounded earlier on Wednesday, December 4, 2025.
“The Hamas terrorist organization carried out a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement, during which terrorists attacked IDF troops deployed in the Rafah area,” the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had vowed to respond following the attack on the IDF troops.

Witnesses reported that the first strike hit a tent in the al-Mawasi displacement area. This was followed by explosions near Kuwait Hospital, causing panic among families who had taken shelter nearby.
Israel and Hamas Accuse Each Other of Breaching Ceasefire
The strike comes despite an active ceasefire, with Israel’s continued operations drawing sharp global criticism. More than 350 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the truce began, according to local health authorities.
Despite the truce, which was spearheaded by US President Donald Trump, Israeli strikes and clashes with Palestinian militants have continued.

Israel has carried out near-daily attacks across Gaza since the ceasefire came into force. Authorities in Gaza report hundreds of Palestinians have been killed in these incidents.
On Wednesday, December 3, and Thursday, December 4, Israeli airstrikes in southern Gaza killed several Palestinians, including children. Israel said these strikes were in retaliation for an earlier attack by militants that wounded five Israeli soldiers.
Both Israel and Hamas have accused each other of violating the agreement. Israel maintains its actions are responses to Hamas violations, while Hamas and the Gaza authorities cite the continuous Israeli military operations as breaches.
