Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kasarani have arrested two men accused of running an online scam by posing as attractive women offering professional massage services, only to steal from their unsuspecting clients.
In a statement on Thursday, 17, 2025, suspects have been identified as Alex Mugo Wachira and Simon Chomba Mbogo, who have been luring unsuspecting clients by advertising “professional massage services” online.
“One such victim, perhaps dreaming of scented oils and spa music, reported the ordeal to the Kasarani Police Station. Enticed by what seemed to be two attractive women offering top-tier massage sessions, he made his way to their supposed spa residence along Lumumba Drive, Kasarani,” the statement read.
However, instead of a relaxing massage, victims are met with a not-so-soothing surprise of meeting two men instead of women.
DCI Unmask: How the Two Men Scam
Upon arrival, the unsuspecting clients, moments into the “massage,” things took a sharp turn.
The two whipped out knives, revealing their true identities and zero massage knowledge. Under duress, the victims are forced to transfer Ksh 280,000 to the suspects’ phone number, and they are robbed of their valuables before being unceremoniously thrown out.
Kasarani initiated investigations, and through forensic leads, the two were arrested while having a good time at a chilling spot in the Kamiti prison area, probably using the stolen cash.
The duo is currently in custody and undergoing processing pending arraignment.

False Claims on Abductions
On Tuesday, April 10, 2025, DCI arrested individuals who were falsely claiming to have been abducted when, in reality, they were simply eloping with their lovers.
The detectives revealed that in a case filed at Akila Police Station, Zain Tarip reported his nephew, Idd Mubarak Rashid, as missing on the night of April 3, 2025.
However, after conducting investigative interviews, detectives uncovered that Rashid had secretly gone into hiding with his girlfriend, a relationship disapproved of by his uncle.

At the same time, DCI disclosed that on April 4, 2025, another Kenyan Nusu Roba Wako was reported missing.
However, a crack team of detectives smoked Wako out of her hideout with her boyfriend, Doyo Gufu, and were subsequently taken into custody at Lang’ata Police Station.
The investigation authority has urged the members of the public to refrain from filing false missing persons reports, as such actions divert attention and resources from real cases.
