The Supreme Court has an application by President-elect William Ruto’s request to bar the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) from being enjoined in the 2022 election petition.
This comes barely hours before the top court holds a pre-trial conference ahead of the hearing of the presidential results petition set to kick off tomorrow
Atte same time, the court also struck out the application from former Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who had filed the petition urging the apex court to throw out Odinga’s petition on grounds that he was involved in election malpractices.
The judges also rejected the application by Agano party leader David Mwaure to be enjoined in the case.
They also rejected an application to lock out individual Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners from the petition.
The court also allowed the application by John Walubengo, Joseph Sevilla and Martin Mirero to be be joined in the petition as amici curiae.
Also allowed was the application to admit on record the replying affidavits of Juliana Cherera, Justus Nyangaya, Francis Wanderi and Irene Masit.
The Supreme court has 14 days to render a ruling on all the petitions that were filed to challenge the results of the August 9 presidential results
