Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) at Embakasi Police Station have arrested two suspects in connection with a burglary that took place on April 20, 2025, at a warehouse in Atlantic Business Park, Embakasi.
According to a statement on April 23, 2025, the two suspects identified as James Macharia Mwangi and Keriko Wanjama, were apprehended at their hideout at Scorpion Den Hotel in Ruai.
“According to a report filed at Mombasa Road Police Station, employees returned to work following the Easter holidays and were met with disbelief as they found that Go Down No. 16 and No. 17, belonging to Aetlantiq Group Limited, had been broken into and assorted goods had been stolen,” the statement read.
DCI stated that the break-in, which happened over the Easter holiday weekend, led to the theft of goods valued at approximately Ksh17.6 million.

Further, the officers established that a group of individuals armed with crude weapons had broken in by cutting through the iron sheet roofing, which allowed them to strategically access both the accounts office and the storeroom.
The investigations revealed that the perpetrators, armed with crude weapons, accessed the premises by cutting through the iron sheet roof and entering the accounts office and storeroom.
They made off with high-value electronics, including 363 Hisense 43-inch TVs, 20 HB 20-inch TVs, 11 HS 218 soundbars, four HP laptops, two mobile phones, desktop computers, school bags, spare parts, and CCTV servers, among other items.
Additionally, it was discovered that the security team on duty, who have since gone into hiding, failed to notify authorities despite responding to the alarm triggered during the break-in to further fuel suspicions of a broader conspiracy.

Recovered Stolen Items
During the crackdown, the officers recovered 269 units of Hisense 43-inch televisions, 65 units of Hisense 55-inch A6 televisions, 2 units of Hisense 65-inch Q6 televisions, 8 units of Hisense and 58-inch A6 televisions.
At the same time, 7 units of Hisense 32-inch A4 televisions, 4 units of Hisense 40-inch televisions, 4 units of Hisense 50-inch televisions, an Aiwa SB 8320 speaker, Aiwa SB 2031 speaker, and 11 sets of HS 218 soundbars.
Additionally, they recovered a white Mitsubishi FH motor vehicle, registration number KAV 565Q, which was found loaded with the stolen goods.

Suspects in Custody
The suspects are now in custody, awaiting to be presented in court soon.
The recovered items and vehicle were kept as evidence while detectives pursue further leads to apprehend the security staff on duty during the burglary and track down other individuals involved in the theft.
