Nonetheless, Prof Crispus Kiamba has worked with the government before and has a previous career in higher education institutions as well. In addition, the former Nairobi University VC served as a faculty member in the university’s department of real estate construction.
Moreover, Kimba’s appointment comes after Migot Adholla was fired due to a disagreement over the issuance of title deeds of Kenyatta University land.
President Kenyatta had a problem with the Kenyatta University administration for not releasing part of the land to World Health Organization (WHO) to build an emergency hub that would cater to its regional operation.
The land tussle further led to the ousting of Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor Paul Wainaina.
Moreover, while giving his final address, Wainaina noted that he was being fired for refusing surrender the university’s land to WHO. Nevertheless, Kenyatta university students were angered by the act and threatened to boycott learning.
