Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) has lost one of its promising talents after the exit of yet another news anchor. Sarafina Robi has announced her exit from the national broadcaster after a six-year stint.
Robi made this announcement on her Instagram account where she recounted her journey of six years at KBC. She went on to thank KBC for transforming her into the journalist that she has become.
“I still remember the first time I received a call to start working at KBC, I was so excited I cried so much! For six years, I have met people who have moulded me to the journalist I am today. Today I cried a lot saying goodbye because I am not so good at goodbyes and I had gotten pretty attached to the National Broadcaster,” read the statement.
Robi also appreciated KBC for having taught her the significance of upholding professionalism and a solid work ethic.

Sarafina Robi has worked at KBC as a news anchor and reporter in both English and Kiswahili. She anchored the 7pm news and reported on stories around human interest, science and environment.

Robi holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the Multimedia University of Kenya.

She previously worked as a Marketing and Public Relations Officer at M-lorry, a news anchor and reporter at Qwetu radio and as a video editor, photo editor, script writer and narrator at Versatile Photographers.
She possesses a versatile experience in the media and communication industry having worked in radio, television, print, advertising and public relations.

Some of Robi’s notable achievements in the course of her career include nomination to the 12th Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA) under the development and public relation affairs reporting where she made it to the finals.
She is also a board member at non-governmental organization seeking to empower girls and boys and advocate against FGM known as Safe Engage.
