Fresh details have emerged about the dramatic Flydubai flight emergency in which one pilot was stabbed while the aircraft was traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
In Viral footage, Swahili-speaking cabin crew are assisting an injured pilot after a violent altercation in the cockpit.
Flydubai Flight FZ1073, which was a Boeing 737, was forced to divert to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, following an incident that Israeli authorities are investigating as a potential attempted hijacking.
Kenyan Crew Heard Speaking Swahili
Footage circulating from inside the aircraft shows the injured pilot lying on the floor as people around him try to help. Among those heard attending to him are cabin crew members speaking in Kenyan Swahili.
In the footage, one crew member can be heard asking another to check whether the injured pilot can speak. Another instruction is heard moments later as the crew appears to support the injured man.
The footage has also sparked praise from Kenyans online, with users highlighting the crew members’ response during the emergency.

Wycliffe Nyafuanga questioned what might have happened if there had not been another pilot among the passengers, before praising Kenyans working around the world.
“I keep asking myself what would happen if a pilot was not part of the passengers. Anyway, Kenyans everywhere. Workhorse around the world,” Nyafuanga wrote.
Norman Mirex also praised Kenyans involved in the incident, “Blessings and bless the Lord for all Kenyans around the world. We always stand out.”
Rosidema Laustar Soita attributed the response to what she described as Kenyans’ active nature and hospitality.
“Kenyans are very, very, very active human beings and act very fast in terms of helping anyone. Our hospitality mentality. Hongera,” she wrote.
Pilot Stabbed as Plane Suddenly Lost Altitude
According to Reuters, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the co-pilot stabbed the captain before attempting to crash the aircraft.
Flight-tracking data indicated the plane plunged nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds before the emergency worsened.

Passengers reported hearing screams from the front of the aircraft before the cockpit door was opened. Some passengers and crew members then intervened and helped subdue the pilot accused of carrying out the stabbing.
Netanyahu said a passenger told him that the aircraft had entered a spin and begun descending before the cockpit was accessed. A passenger and a crew member helped overpower the pilot involved in the stabbing, while another group of pilots on board helped land the aircraft.
The aircraft landed safely at Tabuk Airport in northwestern Saudi Arabia. Both pilots were taken to hospital with injuries, while passengers were safe.
Flydubai confirmed an altercation occurred in the flight deck and said the crew successfully secured the aircraft. The airline has cautioned against speculation, saying the underlying reasons and motives remain unknown and are subject to a formal investigation.
Saudi authorities arrested the suspected attacker after the emergency landing, according to Netanyahu.
The incident remains under investigation, with officials examining what happened inside the cockpit, the motive behind the stabbing, and the sequence of events that led to the aircraft’s sharp descent and emergency diversion.
