The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has rolled out a nationwide outreach program to support applicants seeking placement for the 2026/2027 academic year.
In a notice, KUCCPS says that as part of the exercise, the placement board has established support centers at universities and colleges across the country to assist Form Four leavers applying for admission.
According to KUCCPS, the support centres are intended to help applicants make informed course and career choices and to guide them through the online application process.
The centers are hosted in public universities, university constituent colleges, and technical training institutions in all regions.
KUCCPS officers have been deployed to the identified institutions to offer face-to-face assistance, answer applicant queries, and provide guidance on program requirements and placement procedures.
The support exercise is scheduled to run from Monday, April 13, 2026, to Friday, April 24, 2026, giving applicants a limited window to seek in-person help before the close of the application period.
The placement body has encouraged all eligible candidates to take advantage of the support centers.

KUCCPS Application Timeline, Eligibility and Placement Capacity for 2026 Intake
The KUCCPS portal opened for applications on April 7, 2026, for the 2026/2027 placement cycle.
This window targets candidates who sat the 2025 KCSE as well as eligible Form Four leavers from previous years, and the application window runs until 6 May 2026, during which students can apply for degree, TVET, and other approved tertiary programs through the online student portal
According to KUCCPS, the minimum requirement for application to degree programs remains C+ (plus).
For TVET programs, individuals with any KCSE grade from A to E who sat exams between 2000 and 2025 can apply. Students who sat the exams within the same period and scored C+ (plus) and above are eligible to apply for degree programs at the Open University of Kenya.
KUCCPS states that placement of students into the institutions will be on merit, considering applicants’ listed priorities, KCSE performance, and available capacities.
According to KUCCPS, the Commission for University Education (CUE) cleared enough capacity across universities and colleges to accommodate applicants in the 2026 placement cycle, with degree, TVET, and teacher training institutions collectively offering well over a million slots.
“CUE approved a total of 322,396 capacities for degree programs in the universities, while middle-level colleges have a total capacity of 1,132,531 for this year’s placement to diplomas, certificates, artisans, and other TVET levels. Secondary Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) have a capacity of 2,480.”
