Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has directed the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to suspend operations of the Modern Coast Company.
Murkomen says the suspension will stand pending investigations on a recent accident involving one of their buses.
The accident occurred on December 28, 2022, at River Masosa at Makutano junction in Kisii County.
One person was left dead and scores injured in the accident.
“As a Ministry, we take the matter of road safety seriously and we will not hesitate to take stern action against anyone flouting traffic rules,” Murkomen said in a statement on Friday.
Consequently, the CS has directed Modern coast to facilitate the travel of all passengers who had booked with them.
“I will issue a comprehensive statement on this matter once the investigation are complete,” he said.
