President Uhuru Kenyatta has expressed confidence that the ongoing General Election will be free and fair.
While addressing media personnel shortly after casting his vote at the Mutomo Primary School in Gatundu South, President Kenyatta urged Kenyans to turn out in large numbers and vote peacefully.
“My call to them is that they should come out to vote and do so peacefully. Peace is what we all hope for,” the President said.
Moreover, the incumbent President praised the voting process terming it smooth.

“It is a very short and smooth process. As you can see, I did not take so long inside there,” said President Kenyatta.
This year’s election is significant for the head of state as he joined Kenyans in selecting his successor unlike the last two general elections in 2013 and 2017 where he was a candidate.
Likewise, the president who was accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta called on Kenyans to keep calm throughout the poll exercise.
“Vote and vote in peace and every Kenyan and myself believe that the election shall be free and fair.”
Nonetheless, President Kenyatta is set to leave office after a two-year term as head of state.
Similarly, Kenyatta’s mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta arrived earlier on at the premise to cast her vote.
Kiambu County is the second highest in number of voters at 1.2 million voters after Nairobi County which has over 2.5 million voters.
