Safina Party Presidential candidate Jimi Wanjigi has advised Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to learn from Azimio leader Raila Odinga and retire from active politics.
In a statement on Sunday, February 3, Wanjigi said Kalonzo should instead allow new leaders to take over the Wiper party and stop campaigning to succeed Raila who has declared his interest for the African Union (AU) Commission chairperson position.
“Kalonzo Musyoka has hit the road positioning himself to take over leadership, but he should just take the que from Raila and retire. He has nothing new to offer Kenyans and instead should usher in a new leadership in his own Wiper party,” said Wanjigi.
He explained that Raila is the right man for the AUC chairmanship job given his many years of impactful leadership in Kenya and beyond.
However, Wanjigi questioned what would happen to the promise of fostering the people’s agenda made to his supporters, noting that it has since been put on hold.
“What I don’t understand however, is why since his declaration, the people’s agenda, which we were made to believe, his coalition was championing has been put on hold, and now the focus is on; if and when he takes the seat, who is going to benefit and how,” he said.
Wanjgi further stated that the ruling Kenya Kwanza coalition is scheming on how to take credit on Raila’s candidacy and how to reap from it.

Jimi Wanjigi on Haiti Mission
The Safina party leader also questioned the motive behind the planned deployment of Kenya police officers to Haiti.
ADVERT
He asked why the government should send police officers to Haiti while bandits terrorize Kenyans in some parts of the country.
“In this day and time, how do we as a country lose 53 lives to banditry? The government is at the same time busy deploying 1,000 police officers to Haiti for not peace keeping but war,” he said.
He also told President William Ruto to schedule an official visit to Haiti before sending Kenyan police officers to the Caribbean state.
“Since the prime minister of Haiti has visited Kenya in reciprocation Ruto should visit Haiti and see what the situation really is like before sending our officers there,” said Wanjigi.

Ruto is Cunning
Wanjigi further accused president Ruto of steering the leadership problem facing the country.
He claimed that Ruto has been using his cunning talents to dress up the same crooked policies that failed in the country.
According to Wanjigi, Ruto was the author of the same horrible policies in the past regime.
“We have one problem in Kenya, it is William Ruto, he is status quo. He is continuity of the same problems he helped create that has brought us here,” he said.
“The same people who created the problems cannot get us out of it. He offers no hope nor real change.”
The Safina Party leader added that the president continually breaks law, citing the unconstitutional housing levy.
