Secretary of the United States Department of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, has issued a major announcement directed at illegal immigrants, urging them to self-deport immediately.

Echoing remarks previously made by President Donald Trump, Noem stated that the administration will not retreat from its plans to secure the nation’s borders and advance policies that put America first.

The secretary noted that undocumented immigrants who choose to self-deport may use the CBP Home app, which could allow them an opportunity to return to the United States legally in the future.

In a nationwide advertisement, Noem also issued a stern warning to criminal undocumented immigrants, telling them not to attempt to enter the country. She cautioned that those who break the law will be tracked down and deported.

According to the advertisement, which will air on broadcast and digital platforms in multiple countries and languages, the Trump administration is committed to ending illegal immigration.

Noem thanked the president for what she described as securing the border and dismantling immigration policies introduced under the Biden administration.

“Thank you, President Donald J. Trump, for securing our border and putting America first,” Noem said. “President Trump has a clear message: if you are here illegally, we will find you and deport you. You will never return. But if you leave now, you may have an opportunity to return, enjoy our freedom, and live the American Dream.”

Addressing individuals considering entering the United States illegally, Noem added: “If you are a criminal alien thinking about coming to America unlawfully, don’t even think about it. If you come here and break our laws, we will hunt you down. Criminals are not welcome in the United States.”

According to a survey conducted by Reuters and released on February 26, a majority of Americans support the president’s deportation agenda but disapprove of the methods being used to implement it.

More than 50 percent of respondents said the approach used to carry out deportations is inappropriate. The poll found that 92 percent of Republicans support the major crackdowns, including the use of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), compared with only 35 percent of Democrats.

A majority of U.S. adults who participated in the survey also said the Donald Trump administration’s use of ICE has gone too far. ICE officers are tasked with enforcing immigration laws and deporting undocumented immigrants.

More than 60 percent of Democrats said the agency should be abolished altogether.

The findings come amid heightened political tensions following Senate Democrats’ blocking of a bill to reopen the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

A separate survey conducted earlier this month by NBC News Decision Desk found that 72 percent of Americans support either reforming Immigration and Customs Enforcement or shutting the agency down entirely.

Meanwhile, the Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted between February 18 and 23, surveying 4,368 respondents and carrying a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
