President William Ruto has broken his silence on opposition-allied politicians forming a new party, once again telling off his critics and citing that even those behind the new parties have no alternative plan to grow the country’s economy.
Speaking during the launch of Illasit–Rombo– Njukini– Taveta (B55) Road, in Taita Taveta County, President Ruto claimed that his opponents were more focused on discussing him rather than presenting concrete policies or solutions for the country.

Ruto claimed that his opponents had not presented concrete policies or solutions for the country.
This comes a day after Senior Counsel Martha Karua launched the People’s Liberation Party (PLP) on Thursday, which rebranded from Narc Kenya.

Ruto accuses opposition of forming party focused on him
The President dismissed the move, arguing that instead of outlining their agenda, the leaders spent hours discussing him.
“I saw others meeting to form a party. The party that they are trying to form, they go ahead and talk for four hours, William Ruto, William Ruto four hours? I want to ask them, was this party that you were forming meant to be William Ruto’s or is it called William Ruto?” he posed.

“Their ambitions William Ruto, their plans William Ruto, their manifesto William Ruto. I want to ask them and tell Kenyans, these people talking about William Ruto, I did not send them, the party they are talking about is not William Ruto. They should form a party, name it, come up with ambitions, plans, vision.”

The Head of state further tasked opposition politicians to present concrete solutions for the country while highlighting projects that are being undertaken by his government.
“They should give us alternatives. We are building roads; they should tell us what’s their plan. Our affordable housing program is going on, what’s your plan?” the President said.
Earlier on Thursday, the President while speaking during the launch of an off-grid solar access project in Ndau Island, Lamu County, explained that his critics are focused on ethnic politics instead of conversations that unite the country.
Ruto further poked holes into their agenda, pointing out how they should inform Kenyans about an alternative plan that would liberate Kenya and uplift the lives of its citizens.
Karua rebrands her party
The head of state’s remarks came after the official launch of Martha Karua’s People’s Liberation Party on Thursday, which was attended by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa, among others.

Speaking during the official launch, Martha Karua revealed that the task of unseating President Ruto cannot be accomplished by one person or one political party alone.
Karua stressed that this is a collective effort that requires the support of all people of goodwill.
“You may wonder how we are going to do it; I have expressed my wish to run for president, as have my twin brother Kalonzo Musyoka, Morara Kebaso, and many others,” Karua said.
However, she clarified that this does not mean people should not pursue their dreams. Instead, she emphasized that the unity of Kenya must come first, with the nation’s interest taking precedence over individual ambitions.
“I may have said that I don’t want to be a deputy, but that doesn’t mean I won’t support another candidate. I don’t have to be on that ticket, but I will commit 100 percent if I am not the candidate, to help deliver victory to Kenyans,” she added.
Gachagua on his part while speaking continued his onslaught on Ruto’s administration, criticizing the government’s policies such as the Affordable Housing Programme (AHP).
